Not yet confirmed — the agent must NOT state these. Exact return window in days, restocking fee, who pays return freight, free-shipping threshold, repair turnaround time, bench/diagnostic fee, showroom opening hours. Why the repair centre matters

As an authorized Kasco repair centre we diagnose, source genuine parts for, and repair Kasco units in Canada rather than shipping them across the border. Most online competitors cannot. Warranty claims are handled here.

Seasonality — Ontario market

Season Demand
Spring (Apr–Jun) Start-up, pump replacement, water treatments — peak season
Summer (Jul–Aug) Algae and water quality, aeration upgrades, fountain lighting
Fall (Sep–Oct) Shutdown, netting, winter preparation
Winter (Nov–Mar) De-icers, dock and marina protection, aeration for overwintering fish

2. Escalation Rules for the AI Agent

Never guess a specification, part number or recommendation. Customers here buy equipment where a wrong answer costs a burnt-out motor, a dead fish stock or a damaged dock. When the answer is not in this document, capture the lead rather than apologising: state plainly what cannot be confirmed, say the team will answer, then ask for name, email, pond dimensions and available power.

Always escalate to a human: anything failed, broken, leaking or seized; any warranty claim; repair intake or service scheduling; an unverifiable part number; sizing where the customer cannot give dimensions or power; three-phase, 460V, commercial or municipal specification; order status, changes, refunds or shipping problems; anything involving safety; any discount, quote or account-pricing request.

Safety statements the agent must always make. De-icers: open water near a dock is a drowning hazard and de-iced areas must be marked and, where required, fenced. Electrical: all units require a properly grounded, GFCI-protected circuit; recommend a licensed electrician for permanent installs. Winter aeration: running a bottom diffuser at full depth in winter can destratify a pond and kill overwintering fish.

3. Kasco Model Number Decoder

Element Meaning Example
First digits Horsepower class: 2400 = 1/2 HP, 3400 = 3/4 HP, 4400 = 1 HP, 8400 = 2 HP 4400JF = 1 HP
Decimal models Horsepower, then phase 3.1 = 3 HP single-phase; 3.3 = 3 HP three-phase
H prefix Higher voltage version (240V, or 460V on decimal models) 3400HJF
JF J-Series decorative multi-pattern fountain 4400JF
VFX V-Pattern aerating fountain 4400VFX
AF Surface aerator 4400AF
D De-icer 4400D
C AquatiClear circulator 4400C
DM / FM Universal Dock Mount / Horizontal Float Mount 4400CDM
DA / DAH Home Series diffused aeration, 120V / 240V DA2
RA RobustAire diffused aeration RA6
The .1 vs .3 rule customers get wrong most often: .1 = single-phase, .3 = three-phase. Never recommend a .3 model without confirming three-phase service at the site.

Minimum operating depth scales with horsepower. It is NOT 17.5 in across the range. Always confirm the pond meets the depth for the specific model before recommending it.

J-Series spray pattern dimensions (height × width)

The J-Series has no single spray height — it depends entirely on which nozzle is fitted. The 3/4 HP and 1 HP models include four interchangeable nozzles; 2 HP and larger include five. Additional premium nozzles are available separately.

Nozzle pattern 3/4 HP 1 HP 2 HP 3 HP 5 HP

Redwood 22 ft H × 6 ft W 27 ft H × 6 ft W 32 ft H × 6 ft W

Patterns included by model. 3/4 HP and 1 HP (3400JF, 3400HJF, 4400JF, 4400HJF): Willow, Sequoia, Cypress, Birch, Linden. 2 HP and above (8400JF, 2.3JF, 3.1JF, 3.3JF, 5.1JF, 5.3JF, 7.3JF): Linden, Birch, Balsam, Spruce, Redwood.

How to advise a customer. Pond size constrains the width before the height. A Linden on a 1 HP unit spreads 31 ft — in a 25 ft pond that puts water on the lawn on a windy day. For height in a small pond, use Redwood (only 6 ft wide) or Spruce. For wide low coverage, use Willow, Linden or Balsam. Tallest on a 1 HP unit is Sequoia at 18 ft; tallest in the range is Redwood on 5 HP at 32 ft. Note the Balsam is 19 ft on 3 HP but 18 ft on 5 HP — this is correct, not an error.

5. Kasco VFX V-Pattern Aerating Floating Fountains

Aeration-first design with a single fixed V-pattern nozzle that moves more water per horsepower than decorative multi-pattern units. Oil-cooled continuous-duty motor, control panel included.

J-Series or VFX? J-Series is for appearance; VFX is for water quality. A 5 HP VFX throws 9 ft, while a 5 HP J-Series with a Redwood nozzle throws 32 ft. If the customer wants a tall display, VFX is the wrong series regardless of pond size. If the pond is green, smells, or has stressed fish, VFX is the right answer.

An optional 5-year warranty is available on the 2, 3 and 5 HP units at time of purchase — worth offering on every commercial quote.

Configuration options: cord length 50–500 ft; with or without bottom screen; with or without control panel. The 150 ft and 200 ft cords include a 3 ft quick-disconnect stub cord for easy seasonal removal. The bottom screen is recommended for shallow, weedy or debris-heavy water — effectively essential in a farm dugout.

Independent Auburn University testing measured Kasco aerators at up to 3.0 lbs of oxygen per horsepower per hour. The 2400AF includes a float and two 50 ft mooring lines, has thermal overload protection with automatic reset, and is rated for freshwater or saltwater.

7. Kasco De-Icers

Submersible de-icing units that prevent ice forming around docks, marinas, boat lifts and waterfront structures. Oil-cooled, continuous-duty motors. All de-icers carry a 3-year warranty — longer than the 2-year term on the 2400/3400/4400 fountains and aerators.

Model HP Voltage / Phase Running amps Locked rotor Thrust Min. depth Installation From (CAD)

4400HD 1 208–240V / 1Ø 4.5 20 42 lbs 4 ft Suspended or horizontal $1,858.78
Every de-icer requires at least 4 ft of water. Always ask about depth before recommending one — a shallow shoreline installation will not work. Also: a de-icer keeps an opening in the ice to protect a structure; it does not clear a whole pond. Open water near a dock is a serious safety hazard and must be marked.

The De-icer to AquatiClear Conversion Kit converts compatible Kasco de-icer motors into AquatiClear circulators for summer shoreline cleaning — a natural second-season upsell to every de-icer buyer.

8. Kasco AquatiClear Circulators

Continuous water movement to clear debris, reduce stagnation and improve circulation at docks, shorelines, canals and marinas. Clean Current Technology, oil-cooled motors, 4 ft minimum operating depth. Available with no mount, universal dock mount (DM) or horizontal float mount (FM).

Mount choice moves the price by $600–800, so always ask where the unit is going. No mount suits a customer with their own bracket or rope suspension; DM fixes to a dock or shoreline structure; FM floats in open water. The Kasco Industrial Dock Mount with Simple Swivel fits circulators and de-icers, gives directional adjustment, and takes 1.5 in (40 mm) pipe up to 10 ft (pipe not included).

9. Diffused Aeration

Home Series (DA / DAH)

Model Voltage Compressor Diffusers Max pond size Typical depth
DA1 120V 1/4 HP rocking piston 1 Up to 1 acre 6–20 ft
DAH1 208–240V 1/4 HP rocking piston 1 Up to 1 acre 6–20 ft
DA2 120V 1/2 HP rocking piston 2 Up to 2 acres 6–25 ft
DAH2 208–240V 1/2 HP rocking piston 2 Up to 2 acres 6–25 ft
This is the honest answer for deep ponds. A surface aerator only treats the top layer. Past roughly 8–10 ft, bottom-diffused aeration moves the whole water column and is the better engineering answer — even when a surface unit would cost more.

RobustAire (RA) — larger ponds and lakes

Model Configuration Compressor Diffusers Typical application
RA1 Single zone Rocking piston 1 Smaller large ponds
RA2 Multi-zone ready Rocking piston 2 Residential and farm ponds
RA2DP Double piston Double piston 2 Higher-output two-diffuser systems

Size on diffuser count, pond depth and required air volume. Rebuild kits are available for KM-60, KM-120 and KM-200.

10. Control Panels & Lighting

The control panel must match the unit’s voltage and phase. J-Series and VFX fountains include a panel; surface aerators list it as optional, but it should be quoted in on any permanent installation because it provides timer scheduling and human-rated GFCI protection.

Supply Panel Typically used on

Stainless Steel 6 LED Light Kit 6 120V, 19W each 1,700 lumens each 50–500 ft $5,733.96

Interchangeable colour lenses in red, green, blue and amber. Fits non-Kasco and compatible fountain systems. Other ranges include composite C11 kits (3, 4 and 6 light), RGB colour-changing kits, RGBW and W25. 3-light kits suit small to mid-size fountains; 6-light kits suit large decorative displays.

11. Cord Lengths & Freight

Kasco publishes cord options up to 500 ft on most models, with 500 ft and longer available by custom order. Cord gauge steps with length (14/3, then 12/3, then 10/3 depending on model and run), and each unit ships in a defined number of boxes. Some 400 ft and 500 ft configurations ship motor freight only — check before quoting delivery on a long-cord order. Higher voltage allows longer cable runs with less voltage drop, so a long run from the panel to the shoreline is a reason to specify a 240V model.

12. Pump Cross-Reference

Match a replacement on four things, in order of importance: maximum head (lift), then flow rate at the operating height, then outlet size and fitting type, then application. A slightly stronger pump with a flow-control valve is safer than a slightly weaker one — flow can be dialled down, head cannot be conjured.

Laguna PT8110 → Fountain Depot

The Laguna PT8110 is a statuary and fountain pump rated at 200 US GPH, 7.5 ft maximum head, 31 W, 1/2 in outlet, ponds up to 400 US gallons, 6 ft cord. Fountain Depot does not carry Laguna.

Replacement Specification Price (CAD) When to recommend
Pondmaster Pond-Mag PM 250 (primary) 250 GPH, 7 ft max head, 24 W, 1/2 in MPT outlet and 1/2 in FPT inlet, 18 ft cord, rigid pre-filter included, submerged or inline, 5-year limited warranty, made in USA $166.59 The direct swap. Matches head and plumbing, moves more water, draws a third less power, triples the cord length, upgrades the warranty. Note the Laguna uses a slip/barb outlet and the Pond-Mag is 1/2 in MPT — an adapter may be needed to reuse existing tubing.
Pondmaster Eco Pump & Fountain Head Kit, 270 GPH (alternative) Includes fountainheads, extension tubes, 1/2 in and 3/4 in barbed adaptors, intake pre-filter, variable flow control, 15 ft grounded cord $99.99 When the PT8110 was driving a spray display. Replaces pump and nozzle assembly in one purchase. Not suitable if the pump feeds a statuary spout, hose line or filter — lower lift, and the fountainheads go unused.
Do not substitute the Little Giant PES-40-PW (47 GPH, 2 ft lift) or PES-80-PW (77 GPH, 3.5 ft lift) for a PT8110. These are tabletop-class and a customer stepping down from a PT8110 will report the replacement as defective.

Fountain Depot pump range

Pondmaster Pond-Mag magnetic drive. Epoxy-encased rather than oil-filled, so it cannot leak oil into a pond. Ceramic shaft, rigid pre-filter, 18 ft grounded cord, operates submerged or inline, UL/CUL certified, 5-year limited warranty; PM 250 through 700 made in USA. PM 250 (250 GPH) $166.59 · PM 350 (350 GPH) $174.99 · PM 500 (500 GPH) $179.19 · PM 700 (700 GPH) $195.99 · PM 950 (950 GPH) $232.39. Pond-Mag 250–700 suit ponds of roughly 150–550 gallons; 950–1800 suit 850–1,100 gallons. Not a suction pump — if used inline it must sit below pond water level or it will not prime.

Pondmaster Eco Pump & Fountain Head Kit. 270 GPH $99.99, 400 GPH $129.99. “Kit” means the pump plus fountain display hardware — pump, interchangeable fountainheads, extension tubes, 1/2 in and 3/4 in barbed adaptors, intake pre-filter, variable flow control and a 15 ft grounded cord. It is NOT a complete pond kit — no liner, tubing or filtration is included. Customers ask this constantly.

Little Giant PES Series (statuary and tabletop). PES-40-PW: 47 GPH at 1 ft, 2 ft max head, $59.99. PES-80-PW: 77 GPH at 1 ft, 3.5 ft max head, $74.99. Mag drive, corrosion-resistant, built-in adjustable flow control, 6 ft cord, 3-year manufacturer warranty. Tabletop and small statuary only — not for pond circulation.

Little Giant oil-filled direct drive. 2E-N $289.99, 1-AA-18 $179.99 — long-service-life units for statuary fountains and continuous water transfer.

Known catalogue trap: Little Giant 1-YS and 2E-NYS are solvent and parts-washer pumps, not pond pumps. Never recommend them for a pond or water feature.

Larger pond and waterfall pumps. Pondmaster PROLINE High-Flow (Hy-Drive) 1/6 to 1/2 HP, $489.00–$1,044.00. PROLINE with protective cage, solids-handling, 1600–4800 Hy-Drive, $485.79–$673.39. Aquascape AquaSurge $439.99–$839.99, SLD / AquaForce / PL & PN solids-handling $303.99–$1,399.97, EcoWave external $279.99–$389.99. Several Aquascape lines currently show zero inventory — never promise availability without checking.

13. Sizing & Selection

Pond volume

Rectangular or square: length (ft) × width (ft) × average depth (ft) × 7.5 = US gallons. Circular: radius × radius × 3.14 × average depth × 7.5. Irregular: average length × average width × average depth × 7.5 × 0.85. Use average depth, not maximum — measuring the deep end is the most common sizing mistake. Surface acres = length (ft) × width (ft) ÷ 43,560.

Pump sizing

Turn the pond volume over at least once every two hours; once per hour for koi, heavy fish load or a filtered system.

Pond volume Minimum pump (2 hr turnover) Preferred (1 hr, fish or filtered)
250 gal 125 GPH 250 GPH
500 gal 250 GPH 500 GPH
1,000 gal 500 GPH 1,000 GPH
2,000 gal 1,000 GPH 2,000 GPH

Then correct for head loss — the GPH on the box is measured at zero lift. Add the vertical rise from pump to discharge; add roughly 1 ft of equivalent head per 10 ft of horizontal tubing; add head for every fitting, valve, UV and filter. Undersized tubing is the most common hidden loss — a 1/2 in line on a pump with a 3/4 in outlet throttles it badly. Choose a pump that delivers the required GPH at that total head. Waterfall rule of thumb: roughly 1,500 GPH per foot of spillway width for a full sheet, about 1,000 GPH for a lighter flow.

Aeration and fountain sizing

Use Kasco’s published surface acreage per model (tables above) as the primary rating. As a cross-check, budget 1 to 1.5 HP per surface acre, going to the top of that range for heavily stocked fish ponds, aquaculture or wastewater. Kasco footnotes its acreage figures: also consider pond shape, depth and oxygen demand.

Check minimum operating depth before anything else — it scales with horsepower and rules out models faster than pond size does. Then confirm the power available at the site: 120V household only limits the customer to 3400JF, 4400JF, 2400VFX, 3400VFX, 4400VFX and the 120V aerators. Three-phase (.3) models require three-phase service.

De-icer sizing

Situation Model
Single small dock, sheltered water 2400D (1/2 HP)
Standard residential dock or boat lift 3400D / 3400HD (3/4 HP)
Larger dock, exposed water, severe ice 4400D / 4400HD (1 HP)

Choose 240V (HD) models for long cord runs from shore power. All require at least 4 ft of water.

Winter aeration for fish

A different job from de-icing. Overwintering fish need gas exchange — an opening for toxic gases to escape, not aggressive circulation. Do not run a bottom diffuser at full depth in winter. It destratifies the pond and drives warm water to the surface where it chills, which can kill the fish the customer is trying to protect. Set diffusers shallower and run at reduced output.

Questions to ask before recommending

For a pump: pond volume or dimensions; lift height; horizontal run; what it feeds (spray nozzle, waterfall, statuary spout, filter, skimmer); existing tubing size and fitting type. For an aerator or fountain: surface dimensions; average and maximum depth; power available (120V, 240V single-phase, three-phase); distance from panel to water’s edge; the goal (appearance, water quality, fish health, ice protection); and whether the water is shallow, weedy or debris-heavy. If the customer cannot answer the first two, that is a human conversation, not a sale.

14. Warranty Summary

Warranty is administered by the manufacturer with Fountain Depot as the authorized dealer processing the claim. The agent may state a published term but must never assess, approve or decline a claim, and must never tell a customer that a specific failure is or is not covered. Any failure is a repair conversation and escalates to a human.

Replacement parts are generally NOT warranted. Over 500 part numbers in the Kasco catalogue carry “No Warranty on Parts” — impellers, seals, nozzles, zinc anodes, screens and light lenses among them. Never imply a replacement part is covered. If a customer is buying a part because something failed, escalate: there may be a claim on the unit worth more than the part they are about to buy.

15. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does “kit” mean on the Pondmaster Eco pump?

A: It means the pump comes with the fountain display hardware included, rather than as a bare pump. In the box you get the Eco submersible mag-drive pump, interchangeable fountainheads, extension tubes to set the spray height, 1/2 in and 3/4 in barbed adaptors, an intake pre-filter, variable flow control, and a 15 ft grounded power cord. It is not a complete pond kit — no liner, tubing or filtration is included.

Q: How high does a Kasco J-Series fountain spray?

A: It depends which nozzle is fitted — each J-Series ships with interchangeable patterns and they are very different. On a 3/4 HP unit they range from the Birch at 7 ft tall and 5 ft wide up to the Sequoia at 13 ft. On a 1 HP unit the Sequoia reaches 18 ft. On 2, 3 and 5 HP units the Redwood is the tall one, reaching 22, 27 and 32 ft respectively. Pond dimensions usually constrain the width before the height, so ask for the pond size before recommending a pattern.

Q: How high does the 4400JF spray?

A: The 4400JF is 1 HP and includes four nozzles producing these patterns: Sequoia 18 ft H by 11 ft W, Birch 11 by 8, Willow 9 by 31, Cypress 9 by 28, and the two-tier Linden at 12 ft tall by 7 ft wide inner with a 6 ft tall by 31 ft wide outer tier. So anywhere from 9 to 18 ft tall depending on the pattern. The Willow and Linden spread over 30 ft wide, which needs a pond with room for it.

Q: Which Kasco nozzle gives the tallest spray?

A: The Redwood on a 5 HP unit, at 32 ft tall. It is also the narrowest at only 6 ft wide, which makes it a good choice for height without throwing water across the pond. It is included with the 2, 3 and 5 HP models, reaching 22 ft on 2 HP and 27 ft on 3 HP.

Q: Which nozzle suits a small pond?

A: Go narrow. The Redwood at 6 ft wide and the Spruce at 10 to 12 ft wide give height without spread. Avoid the Willow, Linden and Balsam, which run 21 to 46 ft wide — in a small pond that means watering the lawn every time the wind picks up.

Q: How many nozzles are included?

A: The 3/4 HP and 1 HP J-Series models include four interchangeable nozzles. The 2 HP and larger models include five. Additional premium nozzles are available separately. VFX fountains use a single fixed V-pattern nozzle rather than interchangeable ones.

Q: What is the difference between the J-Series and the VFX?

A: J-Series is built for appearance, with interchangeable spray patterns. VFX uses a single V-shaped pattern that moves much more water per horsepower, so it is the choice when water quality is the priority — green water, algae, low oxygen or stressed fish. For a tall display, the J-Series is the right series: a 5 HP J-Series with a Redwood nozzle reaches 32 ft where a 5 HP VFX gives 9 ft.

Q: How deep does my pond need to be?

A: It depends on the model, because minimum operating depth scales with horsepower. The 3/4 HP fountains need 17.5 in, 1 HP needs 19 in, 2 HP needs 20 in, 3 HP needs 24 in, 5 HP needs 26 in and 7.5 HP needs 28 in. Surface aerators follow the same pattern from 17.5 in up to 26 in. De-icers and AquatiClear circulators need at least 4 ft of water. Tell us your depth and we will confirm what will actually run in it.

Q: What does the H mean in a model number like 3400HJF?

A: The H indicates the higher-voltage version. The 3400JF is 120V and the 3400HJF is the same 3/4 HP unit on 208–240V. The 240V version draws lower amps — 3.3 A versus 6.7 A — and allows a longer cord run from the panel to the shoreline with less voltage drop. On decimal models the H indicates 460V three-phase.

Q: What is the difference between a 3.1 and a 3.3 Kasco unit?

A: Both are 3 HP. The .1 is single-phase and the .3 is three-phase. Three-phase units only work at sites that already have three-phase electrical service, typically commercial, municipal or agricultural properties. On standard residential or rural single-phase power, the .1 model is the one you need.

Q: How many amps does a Kasco unit draw?

A: It varies by model and voltage — the tables above list running amps and locked rotor amps for every model. As examples, the 3400JF is 6.7 A at 120V, the 3400HJF is 3.3 A at 240V, and the 5.1AF is 18 A. If an electrician is sizing a circuit, confirm the exact figure for the specific unit with our team before work begins.

Q: Can Kasco units run in saltwater?

A: Yes. Kasco floating fountains and aerators use corrosion-resistant stainless steel exterior components with a sacrificial zinc anode, and are rated for freshwater, saltwater and other corrosive environments.

Q: Do I need the bottom screen on a surface aerator?

A: It is recommended for shallow, weedy or debris-heavy water — the vertical bars protect the propeller intake from clogging. For a farm dugout or a pond with a lot of vegetation, treat it as essential rather than optional.

Q: Do I need a control panel?

A: J-Series and VFX fountains come with a matched panel included. Surface aerators list it as optional, but we recommend it on any permanent install — it provides timer scheduling and human-rated GFCI protection. The panel must match the unit’s voltage and phase; see the control panel table above.

Q: What size pump do I need for my pond?

A: The general rule is to turn over the pond volume at least once every two hours, so a 1,000 gallon pond wants at least a 500 GPH pump. With koi or a filtered system, aim for once per hour. But the flow rating on the box is measured at zero lift and real output drops as the pump pushes water higher. Tell us the pond volume, how high the water must be lifted and what it feeds, and we will size it properly.

Q: How do I calculate my pond volume?

A: Length in feet times width in feet times average depth in feet times 7.5 gives US gallons. For a circular pond, radius times radius times 3.14 times average depth times 7.5. Use the average depth rather than the deepest point — that is the most common sizing mistake.

Q: What size aerator do I need?

A: Kasco rates each model by surface acreage: the 1/2 HP 2400AF covers up to half an acre, 3/4 HP up to three-quarters, 1 HP up to an acre, 2 HP up to two acres, 3 HP up to three and 5 HP up to five. As a cross-check, budget 1 to 1.5 HP per surface acre, going higher for heavily stocked fish ponds. Depth matters too — past about 8 to 10 ft, subsurface diffused aeration is usually the better answer.

Q: My pond is deep. Is a surface aerator enough?

A: Often not. Deep ponds stratify, with warm oxygenated water sitting on top of cold oxygen-poor water, and a surface aerator only treats the top layer. Past roughly 8 to 10 ft, bottom-diffused aeration moves the whole water column. The Home Series DA1 handles ponds up to an acre at 6 to 20 ft depth, and the DA2 covers up to 2 acres at 6 to 25 ft. Send us your depth and surface area and we will advise honestly, even if it means a different product.

Q: How much flow do I need for a waterfall?

A: Roughly 1,500 GPH per foot of spillway width for a full sheet of water, or around 1,000 GPH per foot for a lighter flow. Remember to account for the vertical lift from the pump to the top of the falls.

Q: Will a de-icer keep my whole pond ice-free?

A: No, and it is not meant to. A de-icer keeps an opening in the ice around a dock, boat lift or waterfront structure to protect it from ice damage. It will not clear an entire pond. Please also be aware that open water near a dock is a serious safety hazard — de-iced areas should be clearly marked, and fenced where required. De-icers also need at least 4 ft of water to operate.

Q: Can I run my pond aerator through the winter for my fish?

A: You can, but not the way you run it in summer. Overwintering fish need gas exchange, not aggressive circulation. Running a bottom diffuser at full depth in winter destratifies the pond and pulls warm water to the surface where it chills, which can kill the fish you are trying to protect. Set diffusers shallower and run at reduced output. Talk to our team before your first winter with a new system.

Q: What warranty do de-icers have?

A: Kasco de-icers carry a 3-year warranty — longer than the 2 years on the 2400, 3400 and 4400 series fountains and aerators.

Q: What warranty does RobustAire have?

A: It is the strongest term we carry: the compressor is covered 3 years, wearable parts 2 years, tubing 15 years, and the diffuser and cabinet are covered for life.

Q: What replaces a Laguna PT8110 pump?

A: The Pondmaster Pond-Mag PM 250 is the direct swap. The Laguna PT8110 is 200 GPH with 7.5 ft of head on a 1/2 in outlet; the PM 250 gives 250 GPH at 7 ft of head, draws less power, comes with an 18 ft cord instead of 6, and carries a 5-year warranty. One thing to check — the Laguna uses a slip/barb outlet and the Pond-Mag is 1/2 in MPT, so you may need an adapter to reuse your tubing. If the PT8110 was running a spray display rather than feeding a spout, the Pondmaster Eco 270 GPH kit may suit better since it includes fountainheads.

Q: Do you carry Laguna pumps?

A: We do not carry Laguna, but we can cross-reference most Laguna statuary and fountain pumps to an equivalent from Pondmaster or Little Giant. Tell us the model number — usually printed on the pump body or the cord tag — and we will match it on flow rate, lift and fitting size.

Q: I do not know my pump model. How do I find it?

A: Check the pump body, the underside, or the tag on the power cord. If the label is gone, the specs we need are maximum flow in GPH, maximum head or lift in feet, and the outlet size. If you can send a photo through this chat, one of our team can usually identify it.

Q: Can I turn my de-icer into something useful in summer?

A: Yes — the De-icer to AquatiClear Conversion Kit converts compatible Kasco de-icer motors into AquatiClear circulators for shoreline cleaning and water movement through the warm months. Tell us which de-icer model you have and we will confirm compatibility.

Q: Do you ship across Canada?

A: Yes, we ship Canada-wide from stock. Delivery typically takes 3 to 5 business days depending on the province. Larger units such as fountains, aerators and de-icers ship by freight. Local pickup is also available at our Markham showroom.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Our showroom is at 250 Don Park Road, Suite 8, Markham, Ontario. You can reach us at 905-752-1226 or info@fountaindepot.com.

Q: Are you an authorized Kasco dealer?

A: Yes — Fountain Depot is a factory-authorized Kasco Marine dealer and an authorized Kasco repair centre with a service facility in the Greater Toronto Area. That means genuine parts, valid warranty, and repairs handled here in Canada rather than shipped across the border. We are a division of Fountain Place Company Limited, which has served the GTA pond industry since 1967.

Q: Can you repair my Kasco unit?

A: Yes. We are a certified Kasco repair centre and can diagnose and repair Kasco equipment at our Markham facility. Let me put you in touch with our service team so they can talk through what is happening with your unit and arrange intake.

Q: My pump or fountain stopped working. What do I do?

A: I would like to get our service team on this rather than guess. There may also be a warranty claim available depending on the unit and its age, which could be worth more to you than a replacement part. Let me pass you across — can I take your name and the model number?

Q: What is your return policy?

A: Uninstalled units can be returned within the applicable period, arranged by contacting us. The exact window and any fees depend on the item, so let me take your details and have someone confirm it properly before you order.

Q: Do you price match?

A: Yes, Fountain Depot has a price match guarantee. The terms and how to submit a request are on our price match page.

Q: Do you offer advice on which product to choose?

A: Absolutely, and we would rather you asked than guessed. Fountain Place has been installing and servicing water features in the GTA since 1967. Send your pond’s dimensions, depth and available power to info@fountaindepot.com, or tell us here and we will get the right person onto it.
