About Pond & Fountain Lights

Fountain Depot stocks pond and fountain lights from Kasco, Aqua Control, AquaMaster, PEM, and Aquascape — from stainless steel fountain light kits to landscape spotlights and commercial submersible fixtures. Every kit here is built for continuous underwater or wet-location use.

Which light is right for your water feature?

Match the light kit to the equipment it will illuminate. For a floating fountain, choose the kit made for your fountain's brand and horsepower: Kasco stainless steel LED kits (3-light for 1/2–1 HP units, 6-light for larger fountains), Aqua Control 30W and 80W sealed LED sets in 3- and 4-fixture configurations, or AquaMaster 35W horizontal LED sets from 2 to 8 fixtures. For gardens, waterfalls, and pond edges, Aquascape 1-, 3-, 6-, and 8-watt LED spotlight and waterfall light kits provide low-voltage accent lighting. For architectural and municipal fountains, PEM E-series bronze and stainless fixtures are the commercial-grade option.

Not sure which kit fits your fountain? Email Info@fountaindepot.com with your fountain model and cord length — our recommendations are backed by 50+ years of fountain installation and service experience.

All light kits are in stock and ship across Canada, typically arriving in 3 to 10 business days depending on province.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which light kit fits my fountain?
Fountain light kits are brand- and size-specific. As a rule of thumb, 3-light kits suit 1/2–1 HP fountains and 6-light kits suit 2 HP and larger, but always match the kit to your fountain's brand — Kasco kits for Kasco fountains, Aqua Control sets for Aqua Control units, and so on.

Can fountain lights stay in the water over a Canadian winter?
Fountain light kits are removed along with the fountain before freeze-up and stored for winter. Cleaning the fixtures at removal keeps output bright for the next season.

Do you carry colour-changing options?
Yes — the Aquascape 8-watt colour-changing spotlight for landscapes, and colour lens options on several fountain kits. Contact us for the options available for your specific fountain.

Lighting Turns a Daytime Feature Into an Evening One

An unlit fountain stops existing at dusk. That is the whole argument for lighting, and on a property where the water is the focal point - a clubhouse approach, a condo courtyard, a cottage shoreline - the fountain is dark for exactly the hours people are most likely to be looking at it.

The practical constraint is that kits are built for specific fountains. Fixtures mount to the unit itself, so a Kasco kit does not fit an Aqua Control fountain and vice versa. Start from the brand and model you own, then choose the fixture count: coverage across a wide spray pattern comes from more fixtures placed around it rather than fewer brighter ones.

The second constraint is electrical. Lighting adds load, so your existing control panel needs to carry it, and a panel with a photocell will switch the lights at dusk without anyone walking down to the water. Commercial and architectural installations work differently again - those are specified fixture by fixture rather than as a matched kit.

  • Kits are model-specificA Kasco kit will not mount to an Aqua Control fountain. Match the brand first, then the fixture count.
  • Check the panel can carry the loadLighting draws additional current. Your existing control panel may need a photocell circuit or an upgrade.
  • More fixtures, not brighter fixturesCoverage on a spray pattern comes from fixture count and placement rather than raising the wattage of a few.
  • A photocell saves you switching itPanels with a photocell bring the lighting on at dusk automatically and shut it off at dawn.
  • Retrofits are usually possibleMost fountains already in the water can take a light kit. Send the serial number and we will confirm.

Questions our techs answer every week

Compatibility and electrical load decide which kit you can actually fit. Here is what we get asked most.

Can I add lights to a fountain I already own?

Usually yes. Most fountains already in the water can take a kit, provided it is matched to the model.

Send us the make, model and serial number and we will confirm which kit fits and whether your existing cord and control panel can carry the additional load.

Are light kits interchangeable between brands?

No. Fixtures mount to the fountain itself, so a Kasco kit will not fit an Aqua Control or Aqua Master unit and vice versa.

Start from the brand of fountain you own. If you are buying fountain and lighting together, we will spec them as a pair.

How many fixtures do I need?

Kits are sold by fixture count - typically two, three, four, six or eight depending on brand. Coverage across a wide spray pattern comes from more fixtures placed around the unit rather than fewer brighter ones.

Larger patterns and taller displays need more. Tell us the fountain model and we will recommend the count.

Do I need a different control panel for lighting?

Possibly. Lighting adds electrical load, and panels with a dedicated lighting circuit and photocell will switch the lights at dusk automatically.

See our Kasco control panels, several of which are built specifically for lighting. Electrical work should be completed by a licensed electrician to local code.

What is the difference between fountain kits and commercial fixtures?

A fountain kit is matched to a specific floating fountain and mounts to it. Commercial fixtures are specified individually for architectural water features, structural nozzle displays and municipal installations.

If you are lighting a built water feature rather than a floating unit, the commercial fixtures are what you want.

Can lighting stay in through a Canadian winter?

That depends on whether the fountain does. If the unit comes out before freeze-up, the lighting comes out with it.

Where a fountain runs through winter or is replaced by a de-icer, we will advise on the lighting separately. Ask us before freeze-up rather than after.
