Aiming matters more than horsepower

A circulator solves a directional problem, so where you point it decides whether it works. Send us a photo of the dock or the corner you are trying to clear and we will tell you the mount, the size and the angle.

A Circulator Pushes Water Sideways. That Is the Whole Idea.

A fountain throws water upward and an aerator agitates the surface. A circulator does neither - it drives a horizontal current across the water, and that current is what does the work. Point it at a corner where debris collects and the debris leaves. Point it along a dock face and the slip stays clear. Point it into a stagnant back bay and the water starts moving again.

Because the job is directional, mount type is the first decision rather than an afterthought. The universal dock mount bolts to a dock, seawall or piling and lets you aim precisely, which is why it dominates on marinas. The horizontal float mount works where there is nothing solid to fix to. The no-mount option is the motor alone, for when you already have hardware in place.

The AquatiClear design is clog-resistant, built to pass the weed and debris that would wrap a conventional propeller - which matters, because the places that need a circulator most are usually the weedy, silty, slow-moving ones. All fifteen models carry a two-year warranty and none includes a control panel.

  • Clog-resistant by designAquatiClear units are built to pass weed and debris that would foul a standard prop - the reason they suit weedy shorelines and silty water.
  • HC means 240V, not heavy dutyA 3400HC is the same 3/4 HP as a 3400C. Same convention as the aerators and de-icers. Check your supply first.
  • No control panel includedEvery circulator ships without a panel. Budget for one separately if you want timer, thermostat or proper disconnect protection.
  • Two-year warranty across the rangeAll fifteen models carry the same two-year Kasco warranty regardless of mount or horsepower.

I highly recommend the Fountain Depot. Ryan and his team are incredibly knowledgeable and timely. We sought a floating fountain and underwater lights for our client, and Ryan delivered precisely what our client was desiring. The Fountain Place continues to maintain the fountain, and we have had zero issues.

Questions our techs answer every week

Mount type, aiming angle and voltage decide whether a circulator fixes your problem. Here is what we get asked most.

Which mount do I need - dock, float or none?

The universal dock mount bolts to a dock, seawall or piling and lets you aim the flow precisely. It is the usual choice on marinas and residential waterfronts because the unit stays fixed and stays reachable.

The horizontal float mount suits open water with nothing solid to attach to. The no-mount option is the motor unit alone, for when you already have a bracket, float or de-icer mount in place - confirm your hardware fits before ordering.

What is the difference between a circulator and an aerator?

Direction. An aerator agitates the surface to drive oxygen exchange. A circulator pushes a horizontal current across the water to move things - debris, duckweed, silt, stagnant water - from one place to another.

If your problem is oxygen, look at surface aerators or diffused aeration. If your problem is that something keeps collecting in one spot, you want a circulator.

What does the H in 3400HC mean?

240V. A 3400HC is the same 3/4 HP as a 3400C - the H indicates the supply voltage, not a heavier-duty build. The same applies to the 4400C and 4400HC at 1 HP.

Kasco uses this convention across aerators, de-icers and circulators alike. Check the supply at your dock before ordering.

Will it handle weeds and debris without clogging?

That is what the AquatiClear design is for. The units are built clog-resistant so they pass material that would wrap a conventional propeller.

It is a genuine consideration, because the shorelines that need a circulator are usually the weedy, silty, slow-moving ones. It is not a licence to run it into heavy debris indefinitely, but it will tolerate far more than a standard prop.

Can a circulator keep ice away from my dock in winter?

It moves water, so it will help, but a purpose-built de-icer is designed for the job and hangs at the angle that holds an opening.

If you already own one type and want the other, ask us about the de-icer to AquatiClear conversion kit - on compatible motors it converts between the two rather than buying twice.

Does it come with a control panel?

No. Every AquatiClear circulator ships without a panel, at every horsepower and mount.

A control panel adds proper disconnect and overload protection plus timer and thermostat options, so budget for one separately. Electrical work should be completed by a licensed electrician to local code.
