What size surface aerator do I need?
Plan on roughly 1 to 1.5 HP per surface acre for effective oxygen transfer. The 2400AF (1/2 HP) suits ponds up to about 1/4 acre, the 3400/4400AF handle 1/4 to 1 acre, and the 8400AF and three-phase models cover larger commercial water.
Do I need a control panel?
A Kasco control panel adds timer, thermostat, and/or GFCI protection. For seasonal ponds, a timer panel automates daily run schedules. For de-icer conversion in winter, a thermostat panel turns the unit on automatically when water temperature drops.
Can I convert my surface aerator to a de-icer in winter?
Yes - Kasco offers a de-icer to AquatiClear conversion kit for compatible motor units, and you can also run the aerator with a thermostat control panel for winter ice prevention.
