The universal dock mount bolts to a dock, seawall or piling and lets you aim the flow precisely - the usual choice on marinas and residential waterfronts. The horizontal float mount suits open water with nothing solid to attach to.
The no-mount option is the motor unit alone, for when you already have a bracket, float or de-icer mount in place. Confirm your existing hardware fits before ordering.
Direction. An aerator agitates the surface to drive oxygen exchange. A circulator pushes a horizontal current across the water to move things - debris, duckweed, silt, stagnant water - from one place to another.
If your problem is oxygen, look at surface aerators or diffused aeration. If something keeps collecting in one spot, you want a circulator.
240V. A 3400HC is the same 3/4 HP as a 3400C - the H indicates supply voltage, not a heavier-duty build. The same applies to the 4400C and 4400HC at 1 HP.
Kasco uses this convention across aerators, de-icers and circulators alike. Check the supply at your dock before ordering.
That is what the AquatiClear design is for - the propeller is built clog-resistant so it passes material that would wrap a conventional prop.
It matters, because the shorelines that need a circulator are usually the weedy, silty, slow-moving ones. It is not a licence to run it into heavy debris indefinitely, but it tolerates far more than a standard propeller.

It moves water, so it will help, but a purpose-built de-icer is designed for the job and hangs at the angle that holds an opening.
If you already own one type and want the other, ask about the de-icer to AquatiClear conversion kit - on compatible motors it converts between the two rather than buying twice.
