Fountains & Aeration for Municipalities, Parks & Public Spaces

Fountains & Aeration for Municipalities, Parks & Public Spaces

Large display fountains, surface aerators, LED lighting and architectural fountain equipment for municipalities, parks departments and public spaces across Canada - quoted line by line for tenders and budget cycles.

Municipal parks, public works & institutions

A municipal quote is a procurement document, not a price.

Buying a fountain for a public pond is not the hard part. Getting a written quote that survives a purchase requisition is — specific model numbers, cable lengths and voltages, delivered pricing in Canadian dollars, on letterhead, in a format your purchasing department will accept without sending it back. We have been writing those quotes for municipalities, school boards, hospitals and universities for years, and we write them that way the first time.

  • Quotes built for procurement — model numbers, horsepower, cord length, panel and lighting listed line by line, with delivered pricing in CAD you can attach to an RFQ, tender package or purchase order.
  • Certification paperwork on request. Kasco surface aerators are ETL listed to UL and CSA standards, and were independently tested at up to 3.0 lbs of oxygen per horsepower-hour at Auburn University. If your spec asks for it, we can supply it.
  • "Budgeting or planning stage" is a normal answer here. We size and quote now so the number is sitting in your file when the capital cycle opens, and we will re-issue it when you need a current date on it.
  • We service what we sell. Authorized Kasco dealer and certified repair centre in Markham, with genuine parts in stock — so the unit you buy this year still has a phone number attached to it in year five.

What happens after you hit send

Most suppliers in this category send you to a contact page and go quiet. Here is exactly what we do instead.

STEP 01

You tell us about the water

Surface area, rough depth, and how far the pond sits from power. A site plan, an aerial screenshot or a few photos are enough — you do not need engineering drawings to start.

STEP 02

We size the system, free

We match horsepower and pattern to your actual pond, check what electrical service is at the water's edge, and flag the things that cause trouble later — spray drift onto a path, a cable run that will not reach, a panel that needs a lockable location.

STEP 03

You get a quote your purchasing office can use

Specific models, cord lengths, control panel, lighting and delivered pricing in CAD, back in about one business day. For tenders and multi-unit projects we itemise equipment, panels and cable lengths line by line.

The cost of leaving it

Public water fails in public

A private pond degrades quietly. A civic one degrades in front of residents, and the complaints reach a councillor about as fast as they reach you.

Every complaint arrives with a photo

Algae mats and green water turn up by mid-summer in still, nutrient-loaded park ponds — and because the pond is public, so is the picture of it. Circulation and oxygen are what change that.

Odour, mosquitoes and fish kills

Stagnant, oxygen-starved water smells. Still shallows breed mosquitoes. Dead fish show up after a long hot spell or a winter under heavy ice cover, usually on a weekend.

An architectural fountain nobody can source parts for

Aging civic fountains carry pumps, nozzles, drains and controls that still need parts and service long after the original installer has gone. That is a maintenance budget problem, not a landscaping one.

How we size it

Three facts decide almost everything

Have these ready and we can usually specify a system the same day. Don't have them? Send photos or a site plan and we'll work it out from there.

Surface area

Roughly how big the water is, in acres or in feet by feet. This sets horsepower and how many units the pond needs.

Average depth

Decides whether a surface unit or bottom diffused aeration is the right approach, and how much of the water column you will actually turn over.

Distance to power

From the water's edge to the nearest panel, and what service is there. This sets cable length and panel spec, and it is the detail most often missing from a tender document.

Small park ponds run well on 120V equipment. Larger display fountains need 240V service, and several fountain and aerator lines are available in three-phase configurations where that service exists — some Kasco three-phase aerator packages include the control panel, which simplifies both the spec and the electrical scope. Beyond the sizing itself, public sites carry considerations a private pond does not: position spray patterns with prevailing wind in mind so drift stays off paths and seating; plan the lighting circuit at the same time as the fountain rather than retrofitting it; keep the control panel somewhere it can be locked; and think about how the unit is moored and how it is retrieved for winter storage and service.

For signature ponds we specify AquaMaster Master Series lake fountains and Grand Series fountains, with Aqua Control Select Series fountains as a strong alternative — these are built-to-order systems configured to your horsepower, pattern, cable length and voltage. Where the goal is water quality rather than display, Kasco surface aerators move serious oxygen for the money and RobustAire diffused aeration handles deeper ponds with the compressor safely on shore, often paired with beneficial bacteria and pond dye for a lower-complaint season. Evening impact comes from commercial LED fountain lights, or standard LED light kits on smaller ponds. We also stock the architectural components municipal crews struggle to source — structural fountain nozzles, suction drains and strainers, overflow drains, water level sensors and junction boxes — and in the GTA our repair and service team maintains and restores civic fountains directly.
