Kasco CF-3235 3-Phase Lights Control Panel

Application. Both are 230V three-phase panels rated 2 to 5 HP, but the CA-3235 is built for aerators and the CF-3235 for fountains. They are not interchangeable despite the matching rating.

The CA is what ships with the 3.3AF and 5.3AF surface aerators; the CF is what ships with three-phase J-Series and VFX fountains. If you are replacing a panel, match the letter as well as the number.

For protection, yes. A panel provides proper disconnect and overload protection for the motor - the unit will physically run without one, but a failure a panel would have caught becomes your problem rather than a warranty claim.

Beyond protection it adds control: timers so the unit runs only when it is being seen, thermostats for winter operation, and photocells for lighting.

Often yes. J-Series and VFX fountains ship with a matched panel, but customers move up to a lights-capable or digital panel when they add a light kit or want automated scheduling.

Amperage. Both are 240V aerator timer panels - the C-220 is rated 20 amp and the C-230 is 30 amp.

The right one follows from the motor's draw and the circuit at your site. If you are unsure, send us the model and we will check it against the requirement.

A licensed electrician, to local code. These are line-voltage enclosures wired to equipment sitting in water, and in Ontario that is not a DIY job.

We can supply the panel and the specification; the connection itself should be done by someone qualified to certify it.
